Karelay (bitter gourd)

Ingredients:

4 Normal sized bitter gourd (Karelay)
Oil 1/3 cup
1 Medium sized onion (chopped)
1 Large or 2 small tomatoes (chopped)
Salt 1 Tsp
Turmeric (haldi) 1/2 Tsp
Red chilly powder 1/2 Tbsp
Steam masala powder 1 Tsp

Directions:

In a pot, add oil, add chopped onion and let them become translucent. Peel and cut rounds of the bitter gourd and add in the pot. We didn’t remove the seeds as we like the taste of that. Add chopped tomatoes and saute. Add salt, turmeric, red chilly powder and steam masala. Cook till tender. enjoy with roti
